An aside:
Yesterday I finished up the kickstart based build of 3 RHEL4, Update 5 servers. All new Dell 2950's; for use with a Tumbleweed Secure Transport Project.
These servers would definitely be considered 'consumer-grade', however, they're also very fast and robust given the fact that they only consume 2U of rack space. Redundant for almost everything; and after re-mirroring the internal SAS drives, have 600gb of local drive space available. Normally, this would be hardly a drop in the bucket, but in this case, it's far more than needed. If the drives were running in a striped+mirrored mode, we'd have more like 1.08 TB of space per server; but this was a performance hit. The hardware mirrored mode was much faster I/O with less overhead loss.
