IBM JS21 Blades in an IBM Bladecenter:
I've begun some interesting installations which I'd like to take notes of:
1. IBM JS21 #1:
CPU: POWER5 P570
MEM: 8gb
OS: IBM AIX 5.3L
2. IBM JS21 #2:
CPU: POWER5 P570
MEM: 8gb
OS: IBM VIO
The IBM VIO is a virtualization operating system; similar in nature to VMWare ESX; although it's functionality is substantially different than ESX. It allows certain functions such as CPU micro-partitioning which ESX does not provide. It's Logical Partitions (LPAR's) can run only 3 possible operating systems:
AIX 5.3
RHEL4 POWER
SLES 9
I've built a VIO server at this point, and am now attempting to load RHEL4 POWER on a logical partition.
